Description
The Shield T115U (sometimes listed as Shield T1/T115U or T115Xi Smart Online UPS) is a high-capacity uninterruptible power supply designed to protect critical electrical loads — especially where power quality and uptime are essential (e.g., servers, network gear, telecoms, data centres, industrial equipment). It uses true online double-conversion technology to continuously condition incoming power and eliminate transfer delay during power interruptions.

Key features of the Shield T115U 15 KVA / 15 KW Smart Online Double Conversion Tower UPS
Online Double-Conversion Topology
-
True online design: Unlike standby or line-interactive UPSs, this UPS constantly converts incoming AC power to DC and then back to clean AC power for the load. This isolates your equipment from sags, surges, spikes, and brownouts.
-
Zero transfer time: Since the inverter is always running, there’s no switching delay during a power outage — critical for sensitive servers and network gear that can’t tolerate even milliseconds of interruption.
High Power Capacity (15 KVA / 15 KW)
-
Large load support: With 15 kilovolt-amps (KVA) and 15 kilowatts (KW) of capacity, this UPS can reliably support substantial installations — including multiple servers, switches, storage arrays, and essential business equipment.
-
True power delivery: The equal KVA and KW rating indicates a unity power factor (1.0), meaning you get real usable power equal to the rated capacity — ideal for industrial and data-center loads.
Pure Sine Wave Output
-
Clean and stable AC: The UPS delivers a pure sine wave — the same smooth waveform as utility power — ensuring compatibility with all types of electronics.
-
Prevents errors and stress: Sensitive equipment (like high-end servers, medical devices, or precision controllers) run more reliably and with less heat or noise when powered by a pure sine wave.
Superior Voltage Regulation
-
Tight voltage control: The UPS keeps output voltages very close to nominal (typically ±1%), even when the input mains fluctuates heavily.
-
Protects downstream gear: Prevents undervoltage and overvoltage conditions that can shorten equipment life or trigger unexpected shutdowns.
Battery Backup with Fast Recharge
-
Reliable runtime: Built-in batteries provide backup electricity when mains power fails, giving you time to safely shut down systems or ride through short interruptions.
-
Quick recovery: Batteries recharge to about 90 % capacity in roughly 4 hours, reducing downtime between outages and ensuring readiness for the next event.
Wide Input Voltage & Frequency Tolerance
-
Handles unstable grids: The UPS can accept a broad range of incoming voltages without switching to battery, reducing battery wear and maximizing efficiency.
-
Adapts to varying frequencies: It automatically adjusts to 50 Hz or 60 Hz mains, allowing use in diverse regional power systems.
Smart Display & Communications
-
User feedback: A built-in LCD or LED panel shows real-time status — input/output voltages, load level, battery condition, alerts, and operational states — so you always know system health.
-
Remote monitoring: Ports such as USB and RS-232 (and optional SNMP/network card) enable connection to management software — letting IT administrators track performance, receive alerts, and orchestrate controlled shutdowns.
Overload & Fault Protection
-
Safety first: The UPS includes built-in protections against overloads, short circuits, and abnormal voltage conditions, safeguarding both the UPS and connected equipment.
-
Graceful bypass: If an overload is severe or sustained, the system transitions into a safe standby or bypass mode rather than abruptly cutting power.
Robust Physical Design
-
Tower form factor: Designed for floor placement in server rooms, electrical closets, or industrial environments.
-
Heavy-duty build: Sturdy construction and significant weight reflect industrial-grade power electronics and battery banks — signaling a product built for high uptime.
Wide Operating Environment
-
Temperature resilient: It operates effectively across a broad temperature range (commonly 0–40 °C), suitable for typical data centre or IT room conditions.
-
High humidity tolerance: Able to function in humidity ranges where many electronics normally struggle, making it suitable for varied climates and installations.
High Efficiency
-
Lower losses: The online double-conversion process is optimized for efficiency, reducing wasted energy and heat generation compared with older or less advanced UPS designs.
-
Cost-effective operation: Better efficiency translates to lower cooling costs and less strain on facility electrical infrastructure.
